Chris Paul Attends Courtside as Wings Visit Mercury in Phoenix

The retired NBA point guard watched Dallas and Phoenix at Mortgage Matchup Center on Monday, the second meeting between the teams in three days.

Retired NBA point guard Chris Paul attended Monday's game between the Dallas Wings and the Phoenix Mercury at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix. The 41-year-old sat courtside and was seen talking with former WNBA forward Tamera Young.

The matchup was the second leg of a home-and-away series between the two teams. Dallas won the first meeting 87-82 at College Park Center on Saturday, extending its winning streak to six games.

Paul has strong ties to Phoenix, having played for the Suns from 2020 to 2023 and helped the franchise reach the NBA Finals in 2021. He also has a business connection to Wings guard Paige Bueckers, who became an equity partner in his plant-based snack brand in December.

The WNBA recognized Paul's support of the women's game in 2022, naming him the first recipient of the Kobe & Gigi Bryant Advocacy Award.

With the game in the fourth quarter, Bueckers had 25 points, five rebounds and seven assists for Dallas, while Alyssa Thomas had 13 points, seven rebounds and eight assists for Phoenix.
