Leyton Orient Earn First Home Win Since March Against Stevenage

Alex Gilbert's late goal gave Leyton Orient a 1-0 victory over Stevenage, their first home league win since 21 March.

Alex Gilbert's 79th-minute strike secured a 1-0 win for Leyton Orient over Stevenage at Brisbane Road, the club's first home league victory since 21 March. The result ended a run of seven matches without a win on their own ground.

Assistant manager Paul Terry said the coaching staff had been conscious of the drought but chose not to dwell on it, telling BBC Radio London that the team did not want it to become a burden on the players. He added that the focus stayed on performing the right things in each game rather than the record itself.

Terry admitted the display was not the side's best and described it as an unattractive performance, but said the team handled the scrappy side of the game effectively and got the goal and the three points they needed.

He dedicated the win to everyone connected with the club, including the players, the staff and the supporters, saying they had all been together in achieving it.
