Miami loses Brown and Moore for the season after Wake Forest win

Miami coach Mario Cristobal said running back CharMar Brown and receiver Joshua Moore suffered season-ending injuries against Wake Forest.

Miami head coach Mario Cristobal announced Monday on WQAM that running back CharMar Brown and wide receiver Joshua Moore will miss the rest of the season after being injured in last week's win over Wake Forest. Cristobal described Moore's injury as upper-body but did not disclose the nature of Brown's injury.

Brown, a redshirt junior serving as the No. 2 running back behind Mark Fletcher, closed out the year with 13 carries for 97 yards and a touchdown, plus two catches for 12 yards. Last season he rushed 122 times for 474 yards and seven touchdowns and added 20 receptions for 138 yards and two scores.

Moore had been emerging as a key target in Miami's passing game with seven receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns this season. As a freshman last year, the Miami native played in 14 games and caught 17 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns.

Linebacker Ezekiel Marcelin Jr. also left the game with a lower-body injury and is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks. The sophomore, tied for third on the team with nine tackles, played mostly on special teams last season, recording two tackles in 10 games.

Miami (3-0, 2-0 ACC) hosts Central Florida's opponent Central Michigan at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, with the game airing on The CW.
