Giants QB Jaxson Dart exits with left knee injury on Monday Night Football

Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart was ruled out for the remainder of Monday night's game against the Rams after injuring his left knee on New York's opening possession at SoFi Stadium.

The injury occurred on a third-down play during the first quarter, when Rams defenders Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart converged on Dart. Young's hit pushed the quarterback into Stewart, and his left knee struck Stewart's quad while airborne. Dart stayed on the turf with 11:20 remaining in the opening period. He completed 3 of 5 passes for 20 yards before departing.

ESPN sideline reporter Laura Rutledge relayed a reassuring update at halftime from Giants General Manager Joe Schoen, who said Dart is "going to be OK." The team continued to evaluate the injury, and Dart underwent an X-ray at the stadium. Head coach John Harbaugh offered no additional details in a halftime interview.

Jameis Winston took over at quarterback for the Giants. At the time of the report, Winston had completed 5 of 13 passes for 71 yards with one interception.
