Kansas City Chiefs rookie defensive back Mansoor Delane did not dress for action in the team's Week 2 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football, and head coach Andy Reid explained the decision afterward.
According to Chiefs Senior Team Reporter Matt McMullen, Delane was healthy enough to take the field if needed. Reid instead chose to hold the former LSU standout out to allow additional recovery from a shoulder injury suffered in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos.
Delane's status for Kansas City's Week 3 road game against the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium has not been determined. Reid indicated the rookie is progressing well and will return once the coaching staff considers him fully ready.
