Northwestern's Braun Responds After Colorado Loss, Crowd Noise Comment

After the Wildcats routed Colorado 41-7, coach David Braun had a pointed reply to disparaging remarks from Buffaloes players about Northwestern's fans and stadium.

Northwestern handed Colorado a 41-7 defeat in Evanston, Illinois, in Week 3. The aftermath included criticism directed at the Wildcats from Buffaloes players, who made unflattering remarks about Northwestern's home venue and its supporters.

Colorado coach Deion Sanders described the result bluntly as a lopsided loss while expressing respect for his counterpart, calling Braun "a wonderful man and coach."

Addressing reporters in comments relayed by Anna Watson of Daily NU Sports, Braun said a coaching friend sent him the video of the remarks after the game. He noted that the atmosphere at the game was hardly quiet, adding that the stadium "didn't sound like a library," and said he was proud of the fanbase and the Wild Side.

Braun also discussed New Ryan Field, the program's new stadium, calling it a chance to reshape the game-day experience at Northwestern. The venue is scheduled to debut October 2 against Penn State.

The loss came a week after Colorado put up 53 points against Weber State behind 366 passing yards from quarterback Julian Lewis, though Sanders still wanted more from that showing. On September 26, Colorado faces Baylor in Waco, Texas, while Northwestern travels to Columbus to meet Ohio State.
