Giants lose Brian Burns to ankle injury in fourth quarter vs. Rams

New York's edge rusher exited Monday night's Week 2 game after his left ankle was rolled up on and needed help leaving the field.

New York Giants linebacker Brian Burns left Monday night's Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth quarter with an apparent left ankle injury.

Burns had the ankle rolled up on and required assistance from the training staff to get off the field, barely able to put weight on it.

A cart was brought out for Burns, but he declined it and instead made a slow walk to the locker room on his own.

The injury was another blow on a rough night for the Giants, who also saw starting quarterback Jaxson Dart exit early and wide receiver Malik Nabers leave briefly before returning.

Burns departed with the outcome already largely settled. No immediate update on the severity of the injury was available.
