Space Coast Football Shreds Discovery 56-0 in Brevard Week of Results

Brevard County high school results for Sept. 21-26 included a 56-0 Space Coast football win plus golf, girls golf and Cape Coast Conference volleyball tournament openers.

Space Coast opened the week with a 56-0 football shutout of Discovery on Monday. Zion Sandy accounted for five touchdowns, throwing four scoring passes — a 70-yarder to Charlie Williams, a 25-yarder to Solomon Snaith, a 15-yarder to Chad Johnson and a 25-yarder to Kadyn Thomas — and adding a 40-yard rushing score. Man-man Williams (5-yard run), Ej Clouser (10-yard interception return) and Da'bar Fluellen (50-yard run) added the rest. Space Coast improved to 4-1.

On the golf course, Edgewood's boys beat Space Coast at The Savannahs Golf Club in a match shortened by weather, with Aidan McCleery posting the low round of 38. Viera's boys downed Holy Trinity 145-159 at Viera East Golf Club behind Shayaan Kim's 35. West Shore's girls rolled past Eau Gallie 164-264 at Harbor City Golf Course, led by Jenna Elharti's 37.

The Cape Coast Conference volleyball tournament bracket produced several results. Top-seeded Merritt Island swept No. 4 Space Coast behind Ema Michell's 10 kills and Amber Ives' 21 assists, while No. 2 Satellite beat No. 3 Viera in four sets.

Other tournament openers saw Melbourne, Astronaut, Edgewood, Palm Bay and Cocoa Beach all advance with wins over Titusville, Eau Gallie, West Shore, Cocoa and Bayside, respectively.

In non-tournament volleyball, Holy Trinity swept Melbourne Central Catholic, Odyssey Charter swept Brevard Christian, and Calvary Chapel rallied from two sets down to beat Pineapple Cove West Melbourne 3-2.
