Angel Reese posted 18 points and 10 rebounds on Monday as the Atlanta Dream defeated the New York Liberty 95-84. It was her 32nd double-double of the season. Atlanta, nearly certain to be the fourth seed, remains in contention to move up to the third slot.
The performance gave Reese 81 career double-doubles, level with Yolanda Griffith for 12th place in WNBA history. The league's career list is led by Tina Charles and Sylvia Fowles, with Lisa Leslie, Candace Parker and A'ja Wilson also occupying top-10 spots.
Reese still has one regular-season game remaining, a rematch with the Liberty. Another double-double in that contest would lift her into a tie for 11th with Rebekkah Brunson. Tamika Catchings holds 10th place, 15 double-doubles ahead of Reese, who is in just her third WNBA season.
Tina Charles holds the all-time record with 201. At her current rate, the source notes, Reese is projected to overtake that mark by her seventh season.
