Rodgers Points to Play-Calling Communication After Steelers Fall to Patriots

Aaron Rodgers said he needs to make sure Mike Tomlin and the coaches know what is and isn't working after Pittsburgh's 20-3 loss to New England.

The Pittsburgh Steelers dropped to a 20-3 home defeat against the New England Patriots on Sunday, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers pointed toward communication with the coaching staff as an area that needs to improve.

Rodgers completed passes for 187 yards but was intercepted once and sacked four times as the Pittsburgh offense struggled to find rhythm. "We need to be better, and it starts with me, that [I'm] making sure Mike knows what's working, what's not working, [letting] our coaches know," Rodgers said after the game. "So, we call stuff that we feel like has a better chance."

Through the season, Rodgers has 408 passing yards and one passing touchdown while completing 59.5 percent of his throws. Wide receiver D.K. Metcalf has had a slow start, though Rodgers backed him. "I'm not worried about DK at all, man," Rodgers said. "I love DK. He's one of my closest friends on the team, and I'm going to keep feeding him."

The Steelers next face the Cincinnati Bengals, with a win offering a chance to improve their position in the AFC standings.
